Directorate of Postgraduate Affairs

The Directorate of Postgraduate Affairs (DPGA) is regarded as the administrative reference for postgraduate studies department in faculties and higher institutes. It is a subdivision of the office of Vice President for Higher Education and Scientific Research which connects and correlates with the department of research and development at Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research-KRG. Postgraduate programs are actually resident in the various faculties and departments of Koya University. The Directorate delivers all scientific affairs that are related to the Koya University lecturers and give the professional research support services to postgraduate students and their supervisors and coordinates postgraduate research endeavors in all faculties. The main function of the directorate is to coordinate all matters related to the provision of scientific affairs and higher education beyond the first degree. In other words, it is dedicated to administer all the aspects related to the Doctorate, Master and Specialties Programs.

Directorate of Higher Education for Scientific Affairs is one of the main directorates of Koya University, dedicated to the scientific affairs of students of Koya University, inside and outside the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. This department plays an important and central role in promoting and managing scientific affairs, especially the awarding of degrees and the formation of committees to discuss master's and doctoral theses, in all academic fields of Koya University. According to the requirements and guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This department has been implementing an extensive project for a year, the project of digitizing documents and information files - the past twenty years - all stages of higher education (2004-2024) of Koya University. Achieving the objectives of this project - transferring students' information from paper to digital format - is part of the main objectives of the foundation (digitization) in the strategic plan of Koya University (2023-2027). The aim is to create a database system that ensures accurate and rapid access to information while guaranteeing the secure and reliable preservation of data.
